After our adventures in Amsterdam, we took a high-speed train to Cologne, Germany (approximately 3 hours, one-way). The most well-known site in Cologne is the Cologne Cathedral, which is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. Construction began in 1248 and it was finally completed in 1880. During World War II, the cathedral survived 14 hits by aerial bombs.
